The market was booming and I was listing homes left and right! I also invested in a few fixer’s. When 2006 came around, the booming market came to a halt. The phone had stopped ringing and I needed to think of ways to create business for myself because I had 2 kids and 2 step-kids to feed. So that’s when I really started working hard for my money. I held open houses, went door knocking, sent out flyers and most important of all, I made about 100 calls a day. I also learned about internet marketing. If I had a listing, the whole zip code and then some, was going to know about it! There is a big difference between a passive real estate agent and an aggressive one. A passive agent will list your home on the mls, put a sign in front of your home with a flyer box attached and then sit back and wait for the phone to ring. An aggressive agent, like myself, will list your home, go door knocking around the neighborhood, hold open houses, make calls to all your neighbors within a one mile radius and let them know your home is available, mail out just listed cards and get your home marketed on the internet. In today’s market, that is what you need to sell your home. I have a very high success rate of getting my listings SOLD!
