Keep Pressure On to Oppose SB256!

SB256 is now in the state assembly in the commerce and labor committee. A HEARING DATE has been set for Wednesday, May 15 at 1:30PM. We need you to respond each and every time to each and every CALL FOR ACTION email you receive.

Nevada REALTORS®, please respond again to this latest CFA regarding SB256. We cannot stress how important this is. Your state association and fellow members need you to respond to this Call for Action EVEN if you already responded in the last week. We are trying to reach Senate Democrats in favor of the bill. So if you get a message that says "we cannot send your message" it is because your Senator is already opposed to SB 256. In that case spread the word to other REALTORS® in your office and ask them to respond!"

Welcome to the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® (GLVAR)! At GLVAR, we are a driven organization that plays a significant role when it comes to REALTORS® in our community. Some of what GLVAR provides includes advocacy, education, training, public relations and government affairs. We also invest in the community through our involvement and charity.

GLVAR the “Voice for Real Estate” in Southern Nevada is a 14,000 member trade Association that has served real estate professionals since 1947. GLVAR represents professionals active in all phases of the real estate industry, including residential sales, property management, appraisal, development, auctions, and commercial sales. With over 60 years of service to its members, GLVAR has become a leader in the preservation of private property rights and in issues that impact the real estate industry. GLVAR is one of five local associations in Nevada and the sixth largest local REALTOR® Association in the United States.

In addition, we continue to be a source for consumers who are seeking to learn more about our outreach efforts as well as a source to find a real estate professional or begin the search for their next home.

A real estate agent is a REALTOR® when they become a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate – the world’s largest professional association. The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.

Founded in 1908, NAR has grown from its original nucleus of 120 to over 800,000 members today. NAR is composed of REALTORS® who are involved in residential and commercial real estate as brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors and others engaged in all aspects of the real estate industry.

Members belong to one or more of some 1,700 local associations/boards and 54 state and territory associations of REALTORS®. They can join one of our many institutes, societies and councils. Additionally, NAR offers members the opportunity to be active in our appraisal and international real estate specialty sections. REALTORS® are pledged to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

Negotiation: REALTORS® can advise you on factors such as price, financing, terms, date of possession, repairs and furnishings.

Inspection: REALTORS® can help provide enough time in the purchase agreement for inspections and investigations, plus advise which ones are required or recommended.

Marketing: A REALTOR® can recommend repairs to enhance the stability of your property and expose it to other agents, the public and cooperative marketing networks.
