Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Gil settled in Las Vegas in 1976. Gil graduated from Las Vegas High School, Las Vegas's first high school with a rich history of tradition and legendary Nevada alumni (Who's Who in Nevada). Gil received his Bachelors degree from the University of Southern California (USC) and returned to Las Vegas to start his real estate career.
